Freeze starting MaxxMem!

Alejoss

Hello guys!
Just recently i made and upgrade...
Got a Z97-A Motherboard from Asus, i5 4690k and 8gb of Kingston Hyper X fury 1600mhz!
And used the other parts i already had!

I installed everything, and it all went flawlessly... until i tried running MaxxMEM...
My pc just stops responding, i can move my mouse, but i can't click on anything!
Few seconds later it responds! But goes again... and the benchmark never starts...

Games ran with no problem at al! I tried tomb raider, Saints Row 4
Even Cinebench r15 ran flawlessly!

So... i came for you help :'D! What do you guys think is the problem?

My Psu is a Thermaltake SmartSeries Sp-m650w!
Cpu Cooler It's a hyper 212 evo, the gpu an XFX 7950!
And i'm running windows 8.1 pro!

Great to hear!!!!

Nevermind... it happened again!! :(

Now with the Corsair RAM! I don't have a clue!!

Could it be the Hard disk? That's what stops working, the HDD LED turns off!

I just ran MaxxMEM again with no issue!

CPU max temp at Cinebench r15 is 47ºC

I'm clueless right now...

Hmmm personally i have never heard of MaxxMEM before. IS this run while you are on the desktop, or do you boot to it on startup, like MEMTEST?

EDIT: Also, see if you can get your hands on another HDD pop that in, and see if that make a difference.

It runs from windows, but im just getting random freezes, not only with MaxxMEM,

Not really often... last night i installed chipset drivers and the MEI drivers from Asus and ran Intelburntest a few minutes, a couple of times

0 issues, don't know if that fixed the problem! 0 issues at the moment, but i'm still not confortable with it...

I'll try to get another HDD, but it doesn't happen really often!

See if that fixes the issue, if it continues to happen, let me know and I can help trouble shoot.

Played Saints row 4 a couple of hours, no problem...

After that, ran MaxxMEM, no problem!... YAY!

Then, ran Cinebench r15... no problem! higher score than last time YAY!...

Opens chrome to read this forum... BOOM! Freeze...

Weird thing is, i can move the mouse... can got to Ctrl+alt+supr team menu and click task manager...

The task manager opens but it doens't respond... it's like "frozen"...

And i can't click on anything, just move the mouse!

PD: I'm running my the same windows 8.1 installation from my Phenom II x6 old rig...

Could that be an issue? Maybe a driver?

hmmm, you could try re formatting the HDD, and starting fresh. It may very well be a driver issue.

Sadly... i don't have the back up HDD with me right now... i'll do that as soon as i can! :)

Another question... i don't really need VMX enabled, right?

It shows as disabled in HWinfo!

Here, do you see anything not normal?

I've never had an intel CPU before! x.x
