GTX 690 good for folding?

Go to solution Solved by GlassBomb,

After looking around here, a single 680/770 seems to get on average 100k PPD. Can only assume that a 690 gives you close to double that.

I get upwards 200k with my GTX 780, as a reference.

Oh, and a GTX 970 gets 300k+

I have the opportunity to get a cheap 690 (cheaper than a new 970)

But will it actually fold better than a 970 or 780 Ti?

Power consumption is a non-factor to me.

A 690 is pretty much two slightly underclocked GTX 770s in SLI, so I would say it probably will perform better, if it scales fine.

Yeah I know it's a dual 680/770, but I'm mostly wondering if it reaches its potential in folding. Actual experiences with it.

No, a friend's getting rid of his. But it seems it would be ineffective for this use afterall.

i really want a 590.... :/ just cause they're cool.

to me, a 590 is like a delorean. xD

Watch out for each other. Love everyone and forgive everyone, including yourself. Forgive your anger, forgive your guilt. Your shame. Your sadness. Embrace and open up your love, your joy, your truth, and most especially your heart.

You can potentially hit 300k with a good overclock.

It hits around 230k by default, mine does 260k with a

100+ mhz overclock, 300k+ is abit of an overstatement.
