If looks are not that important then get the Noctua NH-D15. No air cooler can beat it. Otherwise I would go with the dark rock pro 3

DRP3 is going to be more quiet, Cryorig R1 is going to be a little more cool.

 

IMO it depends on which you think looks better, and which is cheaper. They're very similar.

In a few benchmarks I've seen the r1 ultimate outperformed the d15 by 1-2 degrees, the d15 was slightly quieter though.

I'll see if I can find the links.

 

 

@OP, IMO the cryorig is better, the loudness should be negligable, I have an r1 ultimate with 3 fans on it and I can't hear it at 5v, only at 7v it starts to make a tiny bit of noise.

I've got my 4790k @ 4.5 ghz with it, and I leave the fans at 5 volts on it 24/7, temps never creep much above 65-70.

The cryorig r1 ultimate performs just as good as the NH-D15, but just like 5db louder, if you don't like the Noctua color scheme.
