Can I wrap my hard drives with carbon fiber?

So after wrapping some panels in my car with carbon fiber wrap.... I realized I bought a little too much. I was thinking of wrapping my case in carbon fiber but it looks really hard with the grills in the front. (Corsair Carbide SPEC 01) I was wondering if wrapping the mechanic hard drives would be a good idea because my case is black inside and I prefer that the hard drives blend in. Other than that, is there anything else I can possible wrap?

Im assuming its the m3 heatshrink wrap youre talking about? Yes you could wrap your harddrives but i dont think it would look too great since the surface on hdds is usually quiet uneven. It would work much better on an ssd. How about just wrapping the sidepanels or the top of your case and give it a two-tone accent style look.

I was thinking it maybe a bad idea cuz mechanical drives do actually create a bit of heat. I have 840 EVO so it actually blends in quite well with the environment.

You should be fine. Your drive will get hotter, but not by much. Depending on the HDD mount, the wrap might make your mount a tight fit.

Wrapping the wires might be a pain, but wrapping the PSU might look cool.

It would be a very time consuming task and a lot of tweaking but you could wrap your case, I believe those grills can come off if you take off the front panel, but as for hard drives not a problem really may a degree or two of extra heat. Wire however, as for a replacement for sleeving, not exactly a good idea since it will pull and tend to wrinkle with bends and turns in the wire.

Off topic, but why do you have an A-Series sticker with an Intel CPU?

That's going to reduce the cooling efficiency of those hard drives, it will be  fine short term, but I would definitely advise against it.

Ohh you were worried ybout the heat? No that will absolutely be no problem. They dont get near hot enough for the glue to come loose on the wrap

Depends on how tight the wrap is. Hard drives have a hole in them that CANNOT be covered.

Try wrapping your mouse or even your whole case minus the front panel if you have enough.
