@Linus

The build so fare is very neat, But is it possible to manipulate the gfx van characteristics in linux, more precise ubuntu?

As i would like to build a new rig i'm a little curious if its possible to get it as silent as shown but without windows drivers.

Linus,

I'm curious why you opted for a PCIe SSD rather than say something like a Samsung xp941 in the M.2 slot. Is there any specific reason?

What kind of temperatures did you get when gaming...I'm very surprised a fanless heatsink would be able to cool a modern Haswell CPU at all, let alone a Haswell-E! Surely you must have been idling above 45 and heading upwards of 85-90 under load easily?

This ultimate build guide is all about silence without compromises. It's not the most powerful machine on the block, and perhaps not even the quietest, but it achieves a truly impressive balance of silence to performance!

I'm going to list out the components as well as provide a source or two for where you can get them  :)

I can't tell you where to buy this stuff, but I do lean towards NCIX for the Canadians (and International viewers if their pricing and shipping costs work out for you) because they're my bros, and for Americans, Brits, and a couple other regions, the Amazon links below are affiliate links, so of course every little bit helps  :)

Thanks for the great video. I wanted a workstation PC to use in a recording studio and decided to use this build as my model. I used the same motherboard, Be Silent case and Dark Rock Pro cooling tower. However, I decided to leave the two fans inside the cooler. These CPU fans are much quieter than the chassis fans in the case. The two 140mm fans in the front of the case, which you left in, are actually quite noisy (to my ears at least). Anyway, I set up the BIOS to make the chassis fans stop except under very heavy load. The CPU fans, which you took out, run all the time and are really quiet.

Based on my experience, it would be much better to leave the fans in the Dark Rock Pro and cut out the chassis fans instead. The latter seem to cause a lot more noise than the former.

Hi guys I know that a silent base 800 was used in the video but I'm just wondering if you had to make changes to the board or that if it just fit in the case on the stands already there

Linus I was wondering how many watts the system in your video uses under full load in Prime95 and when overclocked? I looked at some stats it seems that the Graphics card uses 301 watts and the Motherboard uses 210 watts. Total is 511 watts but the power supply only supports 520 watts max. I haven't included the watts used by the Ram, Optical drives or fans. Is this figure wrong?

Was just wondering if I could use your system overclocked, minus the SSD you used and in addition I have two 256GB SSDs (1 watt each) & 8 WD Green 4TB Hard Drives which use 4.5 watts each. I have 2 optical drives as well. I already have a lower spec 520w power supply and an overclocked Core i7 2700K along with all the drives I mentioned but was just wondering if the PSU would also support that graphics card in addition to the more powerful CPU in your video.

Who did the intro? With the Google Material look? What did you do it with? That's my question about this video. It was pretty cool.
