AF vs SP Fans for Ultra Thin Dust Filters

AlRayes_BRN

Heys guys,

I'll be using these fan filters from SilverStone:

Anyone knows which is better? Corsairs AF or SP fans?

I know SP fans are good for thicker dust filters and rads .. but don't know if this ultra thin dust filter will need a static pressure fan ..

Waiting for your replies! :)

You might be fine with just AF fan with a thin filter. The airflow is pretty optimal in that situation where static pressure doesn't really matter much.

this is probably the only place i'll hang out anymore: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/274320-the-long-awaited-car-thread/

Any kind of intake especially when there is something in the way needs a static pressure fan, AF fans create hardly any static pressure and won't pull air through even very thin filters well. Best thing to do when your in doubt about what kind fo fans go where is to just buy static pressure optimized fans all around because while an Airflow focused fan may perform better in a free environment a static pressure optimized fan will perform well in ANY environment.

I don't think it would really matter a whole lot for dust filters, but for a radiator or simillar then SP would be best.  Thats just my opinion though, theres probably some fan expert on this forum.
