HDD's on sale?

MeesterJackson

Are there any 2TB or even 3TB Internal drives that are on sale at the moment? If it's a Seagate, I'm sorry, I just don't trust that brand very well (besides their External HDD's) I see tons of complaints that they die a lot faster/have more problems than let's say a WD drive. Again, sorry, just me being cautious.

Anyways, I WOULD prefer a 3TB, but the higher the capacity, the more possible issues one might have with something like that (for the most part anyways), so if it's a 2TB then I will be more than happy with that.

Thank you for the help if you did decide to pitch in and find some sales for me. I appreciate it.

I don't think there's one, but just watch Amazon and the Hot Deals section on the forum.

Well, Seagates are currently on sale at Amazon lol. They have basically the same failure rates as WD, its just that people like to bash on Seagate harder. The reality is that the drives platters are made in the same factory, so really there isn't that much of a difference(yes I know there is other factors, but still). It really boils down to shipping quality, because poor shipping can cut years of life from any drive. I think I saw the 3Tb for $159, but I'm not sure(it was featured on TechnoBuffalo today).

As above Seagate fail just as much as any other drive, just that they are so popular that you hear about more of the very few that do break.

Western Digital needs to realize the flood excuse for raising prices on hard drives should be well over by now.  Until they price their drives reasonably I will not consider them.  I bought two 3 TB Seagate 7200 RPM drives and have been very happy with them.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
