so me and a few other people are making a project and we need somewhere to host our website thing is we dont want to spend that much on the website so we can focus on the product itself

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Free web hosting is always ass and often very insecure, unless you're getting it from someone whom you trust; eg a friend. Cheap: Buy a VPS from someone like digitalocean or ramnode, and set up a webserver. There are plenty of guides that will teach you how to do it.

They host VPS servers for fairly cheap, yes. As per your title: "Free or very cheap." And there's no reason for anyone to provide it for free; it costs them resources on their server, so something has to be going on that you don't know about in order to compensate.

buying a raspberry pi is pretty cheap. and easy to work with.

 

You'll be depending on your own internet connection then though, which in many cases isn't ideal. (You should still buy a Raspberry Pi though, everyone should have one of those).

agreed.

 

but for a personal project a raspberry pi will be fine.
