750ti psu compatibility

Evga
Go to solution Solved by Sharif,

so you mean I can rely on it to be reliable and handle these long periods of gaming for 2 years (next upgrade in 2 years).

Yes. and if anything was to go wrong it will be under warranty as well

750ti is a very efficient card,so it won't be a problem

Ok so have ordered a gtx 750ti (evga sc). I am wondering if my psu can handle this build as I have heard that under-load the 750ti can draw 150 watts of power. The card will be under stress for long periods of time when running games such as metro last light redux, metro 2033, depth etc for 2 to 3 hours. So can my psu handle it? specs are here:

7700k @ 3.8ghz

1TB WD blue

120gb crucial ssd (boot drive and recovery)

4 case fans (corsair airflow edition)

Be Quiet! BKO1O shadow rock slim (tdp 160w)

Evga 750ti sc

POWER SUPPLY: standard generic grey 500w psu that came with the pc.

1 dvd writer

Cpu: i7 4790k @ 4ghz, Motherboard: z97 asus deluxe, Memory: 8gb Kingston hyperx blue, Graphics card: Evga gtx 750ti ftw, Storage: 1TB WD BLUE mass storage, Crucial 120gb ssd (boot drive win 8.1), PSUCorsair cx750w fully wired, Displays: ben Q  2 ms gtg  , Cpu coolerBe quiet! shadow-rock slim, Peripherals: Ducky shine 3, Corsair m65 gaming mouse, SoundHyper x cloud Headphones, OS: Windows 8.1

An APU. AMD A10 7700k so about 110W under load

Edit: hurrah for editing the question out of your post so my answer makes it look like I just have tech hardware tourettes :P That'll teach me not to quote who I'm talking to xD

Edit 2: My numbers were wrong anyway, I was looking at the OC (4.3GHz) power consumption, not the 3.4GHz consumption.

Would this psu be ok and last 2 years? :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Modular-Certified/dp/B00ALK1GFC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419094262&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+500w

Can I be sure that when I start up my machine on this it will be ok and will it last 2 years as it will be undergoing 3 hours of gaming (metro last light) which will  be on max settings and intensive

Btw forgot to ask. Does this psu auto configure the voltages for me or will I have to do that myself. (can it just be plugged in and booted up ?).

All you have to do is replace your old one with the new one

Just make sure you connect everything to the *right place* with the *right connecter* and everything will happen automatically you don't have to adjust anything
