Is This Safe?

EarthboundHero

So I saw this cord on Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200045 and was wondering if it would be safe to use 2 computers with. I wouldn't think so, but I'm not an electrician.

That depends on the wattage.

If they are two 300W computers then it should be fine.

If they are more than that, then it could get dangerous.

I would personally like it to be 16 AWG instead of 18 which is pretty standard but as long as you don't reach 10A I believe it is on 18 AWG you are still good, it's best to stay 80% less so around 8A max.

As long as the power draw from the PCs isn't too high I don't see why not, I've purchased StarTech cables before and never had any problems, definitely does look a bit iffy though.

Technically it is safe. But, it depends if the company used quality wires.

This.  8A is 960W so two regular computers should be fine.  Single gfx computers that aren't 480s or 290xs

I would only use this if I was looking to inconspicuously burn down my house for insurance money. Otherwise, no, this is sketchy as all get out.
