NZXT H440 vs Phanteks Enthoo Pro (& other options)

Hey all, it's 12:30am her in Aus atm, so forgive me if I say something stupid or misspell words like crazy.

Also, just bfore I start I have already checked out a previous thread at: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/249321-solved-help-me-decide-nzxt-h440-vs-phanteks-enthoo-pro/ and I'm still undecided.

I'm certainly not planning on watercooling anytime soon (NXZT Havik 140 will do for the time being), and when it comes to cases it's pretty much preference, but I'd really liek some guidance just before I go full on analytic mose.

I'd additionally like to make sure you know that the Enthoo Pro would actually cose $3 more than the H440 because it's onl available at PCCG and it has a ridiculous $83 shipping fee.

So I'm torn between these two cases as an upgrade from my current "Gaming Oriented" coffee table, yeah, a coffee table as a PC case...

Anyways.

So I have yet to go over the specs of the cases but just from knowledge and preference and I'mleaning towards the H440 simply because I like the exterior design (will look more closely at the interior when I wake up later today), build materials of it (I believe that the H440 is more of an aluminum body) and I guess the added somewhat silence is a nice bonus.

But I'm sure there will be quite a few drawbacks with the H440 and I'd really appreciate it if you guys could list a few of both cases. I'm going to watch Hardware Cannucks review of both cases later on (8-10 hours, I need sleep) but it'd be nice to wake up with a few points on the cases.

I'm aware that the Entho Pro is a full sized tower, whereas the H440 is a mid tower, and I'm not sure which I'd prefer, but I think the Enthoo Pro would be a tad easier to work in because of the larger space and lack of noise suppression foam on the right side panel.

I'm unsure of storage wise and other features with them, again, I have yet to re-watch videos on the cases.

As far as audibility goes, I think I might thank myself later on if I pick the H440, and probably bash my head against my desk if I pick the Enthoo Pro (okay, that was maybe a little exaggerated, but I'm sure I'd appreciate the "silence" in exchange for a system that is a little less coolet).

I think that's about it, I'd realy appreciate some advice on these two cases, and if there is another case you think is better than these two I'd like to know about it, and why you think so.

Cheers!

Fractal design define r4 or r5?

I'm not really sold that much on the Define series.

I'll go back over them but interior and exterior design aren't special and it's even smaller (height wise) than the H440.

NZXT H440 just because. B)

I'm guessing that'd be purely because of looks, I agree that the H440 looks better, but I'm awfully tired atm and I'd liek to have a few reasons as to why one case is better than the other.

I agree, but storage wise, cable management, interior looks and ease of work are prime in my mind of what I'd like also.

Cable management is easier in the H440 since you have a full PSU shroud, so you can stuff extra cabling in there and it wont be seen.

There is lots of room in the H440 and to me it looks like it would be easier to work in due to not having a giant metal panel blocking half of the inside of the case.

And finally the enthoo cases dont look very good IMO, plus the window is way too small to see anything without having your case window facing straight at you.

Go for the H440 heres why: You said you like the look better so that should already decide it since the cases are very similar internally. They both have psu shrouds they both have integrated fanhubs, good cablemenagement and have filtered intakes.

However the H440 comes with 4x 120mm fans included and has rear i/o lighting.

Also the H440 doesnt waste any space with 5.25'' drive cages and uses the whole height of the front for intake.

I've been trying to make the same decision.  I love the look of the h440 but I am slightly concerned about cooling and no 5.25" bay.  that means you'll need an external drive, which you'll have to dig out of the closet every time you re-install windows.  Not a deal breaker though.  I also feel like having a side window makes liquid cooling mandatory.  air coolers just don't look very good, IMHO.

I vote H440

@Enderman @SuperPug @CostcoSamples

I've decided on the H440, and in fact I've already ordered the Black/Orange version. Thanks for the thought, and Merry Christmas if you guys are still in the 26th :D

Not going to watercool or mod go for the H440

want to watercool or mod - Enthoo Pro..

That is my opinion because I like both cases

actually the enthoo cases are pretty bad for modding because the vertical window barely lets you see inside the case, and you wouldnt be able to see anything important, like resevoir, pumps, radiators, etc...

corsair or caselabs casea are far better for watercooling or modding

Lets see..

take out old window

cut out a full size window

remove the hdd cover&bays and the 5 1/4 bays..

on front panel glue the drivebay covers from back, fill in cracks on front for a smooth front

tada modded :) now you can have a nice modded system, custom watercooled loop, put a ssd + laptop drive behind mobo tray and boom all set. Get a wicked custom paint job and be all set..

btw I originally planned to mod an enthoo pro right before the s340 came out..

I've already ordered a H440, and it has a PSU shroud (which has an illuminable LED), and I'm certainly not going to have 4 GPUs any time soon, not even 3. I'll never get an EATX motherboard, and I haven't even heard of SSI EEB...

And cable management for me is not a deciding factor, I'm going to take as much time as it need to make it look gorgeous.

@Enderman @Syraz

I have little to no interest with modding the case, a custom loop in the future (3-5 years) is ideal, but I'm not sure if I'll even want to keep the H440 when I'd be switching out almost all the other parts.

Edit:

And here I go and contradict myself within just a few minutes, so in fact if it was possible, to create more airflow with the front and top panels.

The amount of space that allows for airflow is very restricted, and if there were some easy, somewhat elegant ideas I'd like to know of them.
