I had a similar problem with my mobile phone not a long time ago. The solution I found is connecting to that Wifi signal using a static IP. You just have to keep the Wifi name pressed until the option to modify that network appears, then, go to IP settings and press the static IP option. Once you have done it you just have to invent a valid IP: 192.168.1.X . The X value is up to you but be sure it is not larger than 254. I hope this solves your problem.

Sometimes it's just a matter of time to have it solved. Also try turning off and on your device. It would be helpful for me to have some kind of a video showing how the message apears in order to help you.

I don't have a video, but I hope this pictures might help you

1. I add the password for my wi-fi

2. It says incorrect password

3. It shows authentication error

4. Repeated this using a different wi-fi, still same results

It says Authentication error because your Password is incorrect, you don't have access to the WIFI unless you use the correct, Authenticated password

Ok. In the picture named 2.png you can see three options: "Cancel", "Forget" and "Connect" together with "Show advanced options". First off all get to the same screen as it is shown in the picture and press "Forget" in that Wifi connection. Then try connecting again but do not connect inmediately after putting the passsword. Where it says "Show advanced options" is where the IP setttings are. So do what I told you to do in my first message about setting a static IP. When you have invented an IP and written the password you may be able to connect to that signal again without problems.

Drink a verification can  :)

No but seriously, check if the authentication protocol (wpa/wpa2 etc) is the same on your router and on that phone (you should see it @ advanced options).

I tried using the method you told me by assigning a static IP to my wi-fi connection called "Wifi" and it manages to connect, but has no internet access (I tried using a different phone and connecting it to the same wifi connection and it has internet access).

So I tried using a different internet connection and my phone manages to connect and has internet access, but here is where the weird part begins. When i'm near the the router ( full wifi signal bar on my phone) it has no problems, but when move away from the router ( wifi signal drops just by one bar on my phone) it starts giving the authentication error.

Wow that is hilarious xD. Maybe restarting the router will do something.

Tried that and it didn't work. I got a feeling that something is wrong with my phone's wifi hardware

Then just try getting a replacement for it if you are still under warranty.
