Phanteks Enthoo Primo vs. Silverstone TJ07?

Recently a friend of mine told me he wanted a new PC, he is a contractor, and mainly wants it for emails, accounting and other very basic stuff.  But he told me he has £1,000 to use to I asked him if he would mind doing some switching around of hardware parts and buying me some stuff and me giving him my old stuff, which he was fine with.  What this meant was that I now finally have a chance to go Intel and I'm switching from AM3+ to LGA 2011-V3 which is nice.  So I am getting myself set up with the platform and just getting ready for better parts in the future like a better motherboard and RAM etc. so I'm buying relatively cheaper parts like a Gigabyte mobo instead of an ASUS one that I would like.  But one thing that I would not like to replace down the line is the case.

I wanted something big and that people come in and say 'Wow thats cool man!' sort of thing and the same goes for me as well.  But I didn't know what case to choose.

It came down to the Phanteks Enthoo Primo and the Silverstone TJ07.  I like the TJ07 but it seemed kinda barebones to me, as if I would have to do some (if not a lot) of modding and work arounds to make it look clean and cool.  But the Enthoo Primo looked like it had more going for it in terms of looking clean and support for stuff like watercooling, expansion and the fact that you get like 5 or 6 fans with the thing, but because I havent seen either in person I dont know how much plastic is on the Enthoo. I like the idea of a full metal case and I was wondering how people like the Enthoo compared to the TJ07 or am I being insane?

Thanks in advance :)

The Primo is a good deal, especially if you plan on making the most of all the space it offers.

I'd get that over the TJ07 and the 900D.

Linus's opinion of the Primo.

Are you sure you want to pay this much (CDN$250) for a case, with all the 'jiggery-pokery' your having to do regards affording components

Linus's opinion of the Primo.

Since I've been considering it I've watched it a few times hahaha thanks, any ideas on how much plastic there is on the outside of the case and if there is, does it feel cheap or is it easily recognisable to stick out of the cases' general aesthetics? Really my only concern but I think that I will probably be getting it but just wanted to settle any doubts I had of the case before I went ahead and bought it.

Thanks anyway bro :)

There is def plastic in primo. The metal is just a thin layer.

I would def go with the tj07. much better build quality.

But, if you dont want to do as much modding, the tj11 is less bare bones, but more $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Not seen one 'in the wild' so no real idea but:-

On that video Linus says it's brushed aluminium, not brushed aluminium look plastic. He also goes on about the weight, this to me contraindicates the use of much plastic.

Personal thoughts:-

I can understnd paying a bit more for quality (and seperate power supply) but $250 (even if Canadian) offends my sensibilities, however it's you that has to look at it [1] day in-out,so whatever floats your boat.

[1] Quite often an issue is made of how easy a case is to build in (toolless[2] etc) but as you only (well for 90% of people) build in it once (upgrades not withstanding) this would be way down my list of considerations.

[2] Toolless then a lot of people secure with a screw or two anyway, pretty much negating the toolless nature of the case.

I see your point but I don't like the TJ11 because it's just too big, I'm going from a Corsair 600T as well but as long as it doesn't feel insanely cheap from the plastic I don't mind that much.  I just don't want to put vast amounts of effort into a case to get say 2-3 things looking clean, which is why the Phanteks case looked appealing to me.  Also how thin are we talking?

600t wood feel cheap

Phanteks has thin metal over plastic, would feel fine

Tj07/11 would feel amazing
