Server and HTPC don't see each other on the network?

Shrrederr

So, I have my Laptop, my media server, and my HTPC(Raspberry Pi).

When I installed RaspBMC onto my raspberry pi I noticed that I could get files off of everything except my server. And when i ran arp into the consoles of both computers the Raspberry pi returned everything except the server, and the server returned everything except the raspberry pi. I don't understand how this is happening and what is causing it, and any help would be appreciated.

The Raspberry Pi is also running through a powerline set.

Try setting the ip's to static?

What are the interface settings?

Both IP's are already static, what do you mean by interface settings?

Is your server running windows?

If so, turn on network discovery from network and sharing center.
