Would hooking a pc up to a large screen 1080p tv hurt fps?

So the bigger it gets the less pixels per inch and looks shittier, are there any cheap 60" 4k tvs out there?

No but tv's usually have horrible input lag which would effect your gaming if your playing something action intensive like an FPS, WOW, or LOL.

Dude just get yourself a nice 1080p Asus with 1ms response time at 22-24 inches you can land one of those for $130-150

Graphically yes but consoles have lag compensation which helps to even out poor ping but also helps with the input lag issues. If i was ever going to play on a tv i would only do it on a console because of that. I know pc's have lag comp to but its always ramped up higher on the consoles since most people who have them dont have good internet vs anyone who is going to invest in a gaming rig usually makes sure they have good internet.

No all game mode is a graphic setting for your colors contrast and brightness. It doesnt effect input lag at all.

that's right but if you get a decent tv it isn't that bad i have my tv also on my pc and works pretty good

What brand and model tv do you have some higher end tv's arent as bad like for example some of the samsung 40-46 inch 1080p LED tv's.

It's dependent on the specific model of TV.  It can't be changed or reduced with a given model of TV except through preset modes (like game mode) or possibly through software updates that the manufacturer releases.  Once you get a TV there's nothing you can do to change the input lag beyond the preset modes though.

It looks like it does help a little with the game mode but this was the first iteration of it so it might not have a big effect on it.

I have my PC hooked up to 2 x 40" 1080p TVs... (samsung 2 year old screens now)

 

Gaming - I've not noticed any issues with lag or ghosting with these games

Warcraft (but the graphics on this game are so bad I'm not sure if blizzard know how big pixels actually are - world of minecraft (themed graphics? no it was just the best they could to 10 years ago and now they trying to label it as on purpose)), Alan Wake, Anno 2070, Battlefield 3, Beat Hazard, Far Cry 3 blood dragon,Grid (all), Mark of the ninja, Civ 4,5 & 6, Starpoint Gemini 2, Syder Arcade, Tomb Raider 2013, Track Mania Canyon, hitman absolution etc etc. And 40" for gaming! FCUK yeah, immersion baby!

 

Work - If sat too close you can see the pixels but none of this bull S***T of screen door these small screen muppets keep on ranting about, if I saw that in it would effect my work and it would make my job impossible. I personally wont touch a screen if less than 30" and over 1440p. I just bought 2 x 1440p monitors at 32", it is on the limit of what I can read, all I can say is, I instantly brought back 1 of the 40" 1080p tvs and kept one of the 1440p screens (samsung again) for when I need to see what things look like on a good pc monitor at various screen resolutions up to 1440p.

 

Movies (from PC)

Blue ray - outstanding

DVD - as expected

Mobile stretched - as expected from smaller resolution scale up

 

 

Just make sure 60HZ or faster.
