MGS : Ground zeros screenshots and first impressions

First Impressions, It's MGS alright. No Hayter though, which is disappointing, but for as short as it is - more of an interactive movie than an actual game - it's great, and I know I'll be replaying it again on hard and getting 100%.
 
Now for the screenshots. I'll include my favourites and the full albums to back them up.
 

And the full albums, some are blurry and crap. There's also some mild nsfw stuff (open wound, etc)

Great but short game, plenty of challenges and whatnot but if the story is all you want, yeah it's small but it's cheaper than the console version!

@Shd0w2 you think? Name something that looks better then. The Fox engine is impressive considering how not so demanding it is. It's up there with some of the other pretty games that came out this year.

Me too, bought it the second i saw it was out, no cares for cost. Played through it, it's great fun, nice to mess around in the MGS universe again

Indeed, its not too expensive anyway and based on other reviews ive seen, its meant to be worth it. If the Phantom Pain keeps up these standards its going to be a pre-order for me.

I'm def gonna pre-order the Phantom Pain, after this, I'm completely sold on the FOX engine, so even if it ends up shit, i'll still have a great engine to play with

Quite possibly the current poster child for good PC ports of a Japanese AAA game (kinda assuming that TPP will be this good of a port but I think it's a safe bet).

It's an absolutely wonderful port!

My only very slight gripe is that there's no in game audio controls, but beyond that it's nigh on perfect port-wise, it actively switches and detects if you're using a controller at the drop of a hat, and after seeing that my GPUs didn't meet the requirements for minimum, yet were still able to play the game nearly maxed out, even though the reccomended is a 760, i'm thoroughly impressed with the Fox engine

Very nicely optimized game, phantom pain here i come! Running solid 60fps at 1440p on 970. Hope its released the same time as ps4 .

Game runs solid, short (but I knew that going in), but gets me super excited for the Phantom Pain. I love it when game makers just make really solid systems (AI, Physics, Lighting), and just let you run loose. My only gripe is the jeep handles like a pile of rocks (sexy 4k rocks at least) but that's a super minor complaint.

 

Can't wait for the full game!

Yea, this is possibly the most beautiful and optimized game I've played. SO GOOD, 60 fps rock solid, only using half of each of my 780's
And the camera work is really cool.

So happy that MGS is making a return on PC. Hopefully they'll release the legacy collection/hd collection on steam, or at least re-release 1 and 2 on GOG or something.

I DO kind of wish that they had a DOF toggle instead of grouping it into 'Screen Filters' with other effects like local reflections.  The Depth of Field can go wonky a times.  I currently have it turned off (that is, I have Screen Filters set to Low) but I'm losing local reflections in the process and that's just a bummer.
