You don't need DDR4, much less X99, unless you're using a workstation. There's a reason it's considered "enthusiast." If you're using a workstation, then you probably wouldn't be on a budget.

The best X99 motherboard which got all the features and many of them is features you won't even use is the Rampage V Extreme.

 

If u wan't a good price performance board go for Asus X99-A, X99-S etc..

Have you checked out the ASrock x99 WS?  It's a decently priced and feature packed board, and Asrock has been doing amazing lately.

Not sure what the hell is up with the build you've put together, but if you so please, you can add another 970 and go ~40 euros over. And yes, it will perform better than a single 980.

They're both great.  I've heard that the deluxe has a few more features, but the Rampage V Extreme will do just fine.

I bought the MSI SLI Plus X99 Board. Pitch black and perfect for stable designing and gaming. Considering MSI have fairly decent board and this board is the one thats meant to last longer than the other two X99's by them. I think you'd benefit in the long run from that more. Depends on your preference for company and design though of course. Along with features.

The deluxe and RVE are extremely similar. The RVE has an arguably better PCIE layout, different aesthetics, and comes with the OC panel.

Yeah, that's the reason I'm going for that board. It still has the extra pins in the socket like the deluxe and 8 DIMMS etc
