A new CPU

Ahhlong

Hi guys , I will be getting a new motherboard CPU and Ram all together tomorrow . and i have a few choices and decisions i have to make but i just cant pick which one is the best . can you guys help me with whether should i go for a i5 4690K or a I7 4790K  and on motherboard the ASUS Z97 SABERTOOTH MARK 1 Or the ASUS z97 MAXIMUS 7 formula ? and for ram i pretty much will go for a corsair 8GB 1866mhz Ram or is there any better ones you guys can recommend ? . i am thinking should i just get an i5 4690K so i have the extra cash to get an corsair H100i CPU cooler as it adds blink to the rig and does cools better  or should i just get a i7 4790k and use my current Cooler master Hyper 212 evo? the motherboard one is a tough one because both adds Blink blink to the rig as they both have armor but the Maximus 7 is a $100 more expensive than the sabertooth one in singapore . so guys please help me with this is really a tough choice to make . I pretty much use my rig for gaming on games like battlefield 4 and is using a GTX760 currently . I look out alot on asthetics of my rig so thats why i have no idea which to pick . so help guys... Thanks !

for gaming, the 4690k will be fine. but if you have the money, get the 4790k.

you probably won't use the many features of either one of them, so it depends on whether red/black is worth $100 to you.

but i feel you shouldn't get either of the boards and get a cheaper one.

hyper 212 and h100i will both be fine.

ASUS z97 MAXIMUS 7 formula and I7 4790K would be a lethal combo. I would go for that if you got the cash! Don't get me wrong though the i5 is dang good CPU.

save you money and get an asus hero or maximus gene unless you really want the armor then get a z87 sabortooh and flash the bios and drop a 4790k in it you will save yourself about  $50 form the mark 1 z97 verson and there almost identical. you then can use the extra money to get a new Grapics card

I purchased my asus z87 sabortooth for I believe $129.00

if you leave near a microcenter drive there and grab the ASUS Z97-AR + i7-4790K Combo for 349$...it's worth the drive it's an awesome deal.

If you want red and black pick the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and i7-4790K for 359$ instead.

but i look out alot on the looks on my rig so the armour sill be a very very big plus ! do you think i should give up my i7 4790K just to get a H100i when i am already using a Hyper 212?

boards without armor still can look great and are a lot cheaper.

i'd get the 4790k / 1231 v3 and keep the evo for now and then upgrade the evo later.
