Motherboard Backplate Foam-Thingy

I'm having a BIG issue at the moment.
The X99-A backplate has some taped styrofoam in it that once installed misalignes the holes for the motherboard screws.
Am I supposed to remove it or what?

I tried to install it, and I even accidentally got stuck the motherboard somehow, while trying to align it (with force) to the case motherboard holes.

They are just off that 0.5mm that is the stretching of the foam in this damn backplate.

What do?

Motherboard is an Asus X99-A.

You are supposed to push the motherboard into it and depress the foam against the outer shell. Then screw in the motherboard screw at the middle to hold it in place so you can screw in the rest.

No dude the foam is supposed to be there :/ you need to put the mobo in and slightly push it against the padding until the holes align with the mounts in the case and then put in the screws. its supposed to push back a bit.

Using the IO Shield is definitely recommended.

While pushing it too hard I accidentally managed to stuck the motherboard inside the case somehow.

This is gonna be my last try. I'm gonna do as that guy said and screw the center one first.

idk, it feels brutal to me, but I'll try. At this point...

The standoff brackets are the right size, it's just that the motherboard is off because of that damn foam.

Its called an IO Shield, not a backplate foam thingy :P

I would highly recommend using it as if you don't stuff could fall into your PC through the gaps created by it not being there, dust would have another point of entry, and it won't look nearly as good.

I managed to stick the damn thing in there.

I didn't put in a screw or two and 1/2 of them are not super-tight because I've had enough stunts and heart attacks for today. The board holds itself in the mb tray perfectly.

Is it fine like this? Nothing is going nowhere with this, trust me. And I already had more than enough chances to break this 250$ board already.

Make sure they are tightened down but not overly tight.   And yes install them all.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.
