I encountered another ignorant person today

Another person started on me today claiming that my PC is crap compared to his imac. He says that his computer has a 'diamond efficiency' and that his i7 is better than mine and when I tried to test his computer knowledge he didn't answer any of my questions and called Me a dumbass. He also says that custon PCs are crap and building PCs is gay. What do you guys have to say to him in response to his ignorance.

Sounds like he ran out of arguments and had to fall back on insulting you. Most likely because he realised your PC is better and only cost half the price.

 

It's always a bad idea to corner an animal, same goes for humans. Basic rhethorical guideline - this kind of thing is bound to happen when you're cornering someone with your arguments. Only thing you can do at this point is to walk away, knowing too well what your arguments were. The other person knows as well.

Ignorant Mac users are everywhere. On the radio a week ago there is this very popular afternoon radio show which has like these two young people who "try" and be comedic and entertain people, but I find them rather boring. Anyway one of the presenters who calls himself a nerd said that his Macbook was broken or something and he had to sent it in for repair and in the meantime he had to use a Windows computer. He tried to be funny by saying that PC's are for plebs and only old people use them and stuff like that. I just find it annoying, and it makes me wonder how they find these uneducated people, and why on earth do they put them on radio.

My school is full of them. I suggest either ignoring them OR (what i tried to do and sort of succeeded) is to, over time, keep giving them PROPER and GOOD reasons as to why a custom PC is better. I managed sway my previously "macs are the best bcuz apple" friends to admitting that custom PCs are better however he still bought a mac. Not all people may have common sense and the background knowledge (which i had to give him over a period of time) so some may stay ignorant and then the only choice is to avoid them.

They seem like very funny and qualified people indeed... As to why they put them on radio I can not answer. Maybe the channels taget audience holds similar missconceptions? =)

Yeah I think they try and appeal to young people who are really into social networks and have their iPhone and Macbook, all they talk about is internet trends. Anyway I believe they are only on the air for another 6 months then the radio station are getting rid of them, which is good news.
