a friend just asked me is this a decent ssd for his system upgrading from a 500gb HDD, it will be used for the OS and just the adobe suit

For $60 sadly thats pretty much the only 120GB SSD you can get in Australia.

It seems fine.

Good luck finding anything cheaper than that AUD. All that I can find on MSY and PCCG is 60gb for that price.

120gb start at around $80.

If you're going to the brendale MSY store theres a white guy that works there now, ask him if he knows about anything cheaper maybe. Worth a shot.
