GIGABYTE NVIDIA GTX970 G1 GAMING/vs/EVGA NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 970 FTW

I have the G1 gaming, managed to get it to 1550mhz on core and 7.7ghz on mem.

Build quality wise I was just shocked when I held the card initially. The whole thing is just a chunk of metal, besides the fans ofc. I like the brushed finish of the thing, looks amazing!

One thing I don't like about this card particularly is that that backplate extends beyond the PCB, i think its to accommodate the third fan for better cooling, but I don't like how the PCI power needs go past half an inch of the card to be plugged in.

Another question.

Do I need a "k" processor for overclock?

Unfortunately yes you do. Which is why I still have my old rig as any CPU that I can buy for it is unlocked

That is one of my main problems with it as well, but you pay for what you get, and with my GTX 970 G1 Gaming I have gotten quality (barely fits in either of my mid-ATX cases is the only con). And the settings I use are simply the ones even a standard Gigabyte GTX 970 should be able to reach. Anything after will vary per card from what I have seen after looking at several reviews.
