Crappy 290x OC results D:

Hey guys i have a tri x 290x and this is my OC results

I think i lost in the silicon lottery There are others that are getting 1200mhz easily... DAMMIT D:

Core Clock : 1160 Mhz

Memory Clock : 1615 Mhz

 

Is there anyway for me to better my OC results other than flashing a custom bios?

your CPU is indeed not feeding the card all it can handle in unigine, there are a few spikes here an there and then a big one in the part in which the GPU was getting the workload.

you don't, it's fine...it's hardly a bottleneck your GPU is maxed out most of the time...but i wouldnt pair a more powerful GPU with it for the resolution that you are running your benchmarks at.

You should run some games and monitor your GPU load to see if it's consistent...

CPU usage won't mean anything...so long as the CPU isnt pinned at 100% (thus showing that it can process anything more = bottleneck) it's fine...it's the speed at which the instructions are processed that matters and not the actual load on the CPU itself.

Monitor your GPU load while gaming...this will tell you if something in the system is limitng your card to fully perform...also make sure VSYNC is off...of course.

thats consistent your gpu seem to be fed all it can handle...no bottleneck.

make sure you set a proper fan curve though your gpu fans only spins at 40ish percent and your temps are high...

That's my custom curve The GPU fan was too noisy so i changed it so that my GPU tempts stays below 85 but it remains quite silent. With my OC of 1155Mhz and 1590Mhz It seems that only crysis 3 crashes tho.... I tried metro last light and unigine heaven but none of them crashed

crysis is hard on the gpu its a good stability test...looks like your overclock is not quite stable.

also i find 85c to be quite high i think you should try to spin the fans slightly faster under full load...bellow 80c would be better for long term use imho.

0 Crashes/ 0 artifacts. But i cant really run crysis 3 with this settings anyone knows why?

Another reason why my gpu runs so hot it's because it is a 290x in Singapore (Ambient is 30 degrees C) and heck im running AC unity right now and i have no issues D:
