dragon age inquisition bad performance

randy hutajulu

People talks shit about assassin's creed unity performance, why they don't talk the same thing about dragon age performance during conversation or cutscene. It's pretty laggy on my GTX 780 anyway

I believe it's capped at 30fps because of audio/video desync. issues. A "bad" solution, but it was probably quick and easy, and it works. :P

Linus

Naaahh.. I think it's even lower than 30 FPS. And u can even make a coffee while first loading time

Hmm, mine jumps down to a consistent 30fps in dialogues, but I guess there might be something else at work as well. My 680 doesn't dip below 30 at any point, though. So it's weird seeing a 780 drop that low.

As for the loading times... they are excruciating! I stay in areas for way to long just 'cause I can't stand taking a couple minutes break just to explore other areas, or to turn in quest, haha.

Cheers,

Linus

It is locked at 30 fps. Get fps reader and screen capture the read out:

The problem stems from the cut-scenes being locked at 30 frames per second,

There's a fix to remove the cut-scene FPS cap, just add:

-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

to the end of the shortcut pathway

This works, but causes issues with Multiplayer, use a separate shortcut

the point is, the graph isn't even close to assassin's creed unity. it's far from a good looking next gen game to be honest. but why even the metro last light redux can do much better than this game. zzzzzzzz

You should probably be able to run it at Ultra (if you are running it at 1080p or similar), but turn the MSAA way down; The game still looks great without it. :)

i play it on 1920x1200.

i was so freaking angry since the first time i try this game. i thought i will have a very smooth gameplay and conversation (that's important to me) since the graph itself isn't that good.

yea.. i don't find a significant improvement from the MSAA so i turned it off.

nope. not really. i'm not a big fan of AC. but i really concern about game performance. especially when the graph itself isn't that good like this one

Right click your dragon age short cut.

Go down to Properties

In the "Target" field, add:      -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

To the end of the text

If your profile is correct, I wouldn't be surprised for load times since you're running a 2TB HDD and not a ssd.

And unfortunately the latest patch made ultra settings glitchy. Apparently its to be fixed in the upcoming patch 3........

yea.. i haven't use an SSD till now. but still it's too long. even BF4 (which is quite long for me) is far more faster than this.

i'll try it on my MSi ghost pro 3K gaming laptop.

it has an SSD and lets see the loading time

Agreed, that's why I may be one of the few people happy they delayed Witcher 3 in the hopes its to polish the game.
