Will my cpu bottleneck?

Hi!This is my first post here, I currently have a asrock z77 fatal1ty and the old pentium g620 and want to either buy a gtx 660 or 760 and want to know if they would bottleneck.

(Edit) btw just incase it helps I have 2x4gb of ballistix ram and my build is a hackintosh.

yea the CPU is a the issue

you can look for a i5 or i7 based on your LGA1155 socket on ebay

check if the seller is trusted

you have a great motherboard...double check on your PSU...order an i5 that is supported by your motherboard through amazon or used market and you'll be golden...for your GPU you should look for an R9 280 instead they offer the best price to performance at the moment and they have 3GB of VRAM which is very handy to have for modern games if you want to run high texture settings in games.

Wow thanks for the replies it kinda sucks when everything is 1150 and what about a i3?

an i3 would be better of course but really your best bet for max performance per dollar is to just get an i5 that is a direct drop in for your motherboard.

These are the CPU's that are supported by your motherboard...some of them will require you to have the latest bios so you will want to update your bios prior to getting rid of your pentium:

For your GPU i would recommend the Gigabyte R9 280 windforce or the MSI R9 280 Gaming or the Asus R9 280 DirectCUII...whichever is cheaper or you like the most...i think the MSI is superior and quieter...check reviews.

Thanks I'm sure amd cards are great but for some reason I've been lead to believe that there "tacky" and "rebranded sh*t" so I haven't really considered them much but I'll look into it

You do get more performance per dollar with AMD cards and they give you an extra GB of VRAM and more often than not they toss in a couple free games on top of that...it's a much better choice than a GTX760.

the i5-3470 can be found brand new on amazon for an ''okay'' price though...around 180$...not bad.

i would look for a used one though.

154$ used, said it's been tested and working...and it's through amazon...so you can get a full refund if something is wrong with it:
