iPhone 4s went through washer

nick5530

Help please! My dog through up on my bed, and my phone was on my bed and I didn't realize it. It went through the wash when I remembered about it. I checked and got it out and there was visible water behind the display, however it turned on and worked properly. I then powered it off and put it in a bag of rice, since I had know idea what else to do.

Help!

That's all that can be done really.*

But, let's be serious...

Take it a part, especially the battery, and firstly air dry it, and then put it into a rice bag :D

Linus has a video where he restored his Dell something laptop after he accidentally left it in the rain :D

Problem is that I don't have the screw driver on the screw on the bottom to take it apart.

Found it :D

I recommend this, since there was/is a lot of water in the washing machine, and rice method sometimes won't cut it....

it's actually very easy (did it to my ipod touch 4)

Just take a hair dryer and go along the edges, and after it get's a bit hot, take something thing and pry the screen off carefully

Only problem is that I don't have the tools to take it apart. I've seen the video before and most likely would've done it but unfortunately I don't have the tools.

Again, taking the screen off of an iPhone 4/4S is a pain in the ass. You don't have the ability to do what you do to an iPod Touch. You have to disassemble the device from the back and match screw lengths and locations along the way. It's time consuming and easy to break the device.

OP, you should probably seek a vet if he is throwing up a lot... and especially if it is profuse.  Hope he's okay.
