Where to learn Java?

fababaa
Go to solution Solved by antoainb,

It's from 2009, do you think it is outdated?

I never followed the course, but if he doesn't have any more recent ones then he hasn't felt the need to update it. And either way you can always learn the new stuff later because (correct me if I'm wrong) Java syntax hasn't changed that much. He makes good tutorials and it's free. If you really want to learn the newest version now the look at lynda.com.

I've decided that I want to start learning Java and now I'm wondering if any of you know any website where I can start with it?

Thanks!

*Lynda.com

Also i wouldn't suggest there as you have to pay, Codeacademy as stated above is better and free.

I really like the book Core Java by Cay Horstmann. He has a course on udacity:

https://www.udacity.com/course/cs046

I don't know if the course itself is any good, but it might be worth a shot since his book is so awesome.

Looks good, unfortunately I only have a 14-day trial and after that I have to pay 199$ per month, so I'll stay with the free stuff

But thanks for the suggestion!

You only need to pay to get the certificate of completion and some of the extra crap. You can still access all the videos and assignments for free though, I believe.
