Connect Home Theatre Speakers To PC Audio

I bought a cheap little Sony 5.1 surround home theatre system for the missus yesterday and can only connect it to my computer through the TV/Cable RCA connector on the back, which doesn't seem to allow use of the surround sound speakers. I decided to whip out my old Sony STR-K840P amp and connect them all through that but the sub woofer connects through an RCA on the rear as opposed to the HTS sub which has the wire connector.

Is there any way I can either connect the HTS Surround through the pc without the amp or connect the HTS Sub to the amp? Also, that amp won't blow those speakers will it? Or is it possible to connect the DVD receivers HDMI audio to the pc in some fashion?
