ASUS Maximus VI Impact + Cryorig C1 ?

Go to solution Solved by Steve CR,

It fits the Maximus Impact VII and VI without problem.  I just put together an Impact VII system.

I found a VI Impact for a good price a bit ago after returning a faulty ITX mobo to Amazon and decided to try out an air cooler. The cooler in question is the Cryorig C1 as the case the build will be in is a Corsair 250D, so taller air coolers are out of the equation. I don't want to risk leaks with AIO units, so a low profile, high performance air cooler is the way to go.

I forgot to take into account the daughter boards, the C1 looks like it won't clear them.

Here's a couple of screenshots via drop-box: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qmnvpde9at4tne0/AAA4fKXN9_Ie0y3h6Tdy2QcNa?dl=0

The cooler looks like it won't clear the daughter boards, but PCPP says it doesn't conflict at all. Did anyone actually try a C1 with the Maximus VI Impact?

Here's the build if anyone's curious: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Rv7DMp

I found this, no idea which gen Impact it is though

Apologies for the late response, but I was busy in town for the better part of the day. So, do the older generation impacts also have daughterboards? I know the C1's heatsink is raised to allow for clearance of DIMMs, but the VRM daughterboard looks a little bit higher in profile to me.

It should fit

The C1 has 42mm of clearance above the ram socket, which is about 5mm from the PCB

As the daughter board starts from the PCB, and most places I can find say the daughter board is about 40mm high, it should fit underneath the cooler

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Deepcool Castle 240EX - Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

Their demo board is either the Z87I-Pro or Z87I-Deluxe, and both have daughterboards for the power delivery.  I do believe they share the same layout as both the Maximus VI Impact and Maximus VII Impact (meaning power delivery daughterboard, RAM slots, and PCIe slot placement).

Titan: Intel Core i7-5820K | ASUS X99-A | Crucial Ballistix Sport 4x4GB DDR4-2400 | ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 970 | OCZ Arc 100 2x256GB in RAID 0 | Seagate Barracuda 2x2TB in RAID 1

EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 | Fractal Design Define R5 Titanium Window | Phanteks PH-TC14PE | ASUS BW-12B1ST

Oh hell yes, I'm in luck then. The i7 should be arriving today.

Awesome, so I'm good to go. Thanks for the reply!
