Minecraft ... totally lost LOL

DeViLzzz

How many times have you dug too far in Minecraft when playing solo and had no idea how to get yourself out?  How many times did you just keep on digging like Ubisoft?

I just started playing this game only a day ago and I am having so much fun with it.  I got it at SDM so I could play with my niece sometimes and finally did during the weekend and had a great time.  How do I stop digging myself dark places to die in though?  I haven't found it easy to get a supply of torches yet. :S

Btw I am playing this on the Xbox 360 so if anyone wants to join me sometime and play it I am SeanD1972FTW. That is my Xbox Live Gamer Tag.

To get an easy supply of torches, just put logs in a furnace and use the charcoal to make torches instead of coal, and its really easy to create a plantation of trees, just replant the saplings. also to not get lost in caves, always place torches on the left hand side of you, so if you see them on the right hand side, you know you are travelling back the way you came.

You gotta have coal right? So what you want to do is look around on the surface for coal. Like in mountain faces n stuff.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Better late than never.  Back log for life kept me from playing this sooner and my son nor my brother would play games I liked with me most of the time.  We have different tastes.  Still when we did try I either could not keep up with them or they would not start out a game at the same level as me in terms of character level and so it made for a not so fun experience.  I played Gears of War with my brother and that series just wasn't for me.  Third person camera I believe and on top of that my brother was just so much better at the game and had played it before and thus he rolled through things and really didn't even need me there to help.  We also played a Borderlands game with coop once and he wanted me to play with him when he was a kajillion levels higher than me and all I got to see was him and eventually his friend joining the game at a later point just roll through stuff and my brother expected me to just loot.  That is no fun.  Anyway so glad that I played this finally and have my niece to play with and heck I won't mind playing with strangers either with this game in the future.  Again looking for people to play with from LTT too.

I use voxelmap and teleport home  For darkness, well gammabright does the trick :D Yeah I play with hacks but only in singleplayer, on servers that would be unfair. Playing since 2010. True alpha account :)

You make furnaces, its a circle of 8 cobblestone in a crafting bench, (on PC) not sure how the crafting works on console.

I am on console for this game so I am thinking much of what you mentioned here is not available to me.

Fudge why you play on console? :( But coal is easy to find. Should be sticking out in every cave. For the first night you should find a dirtwall and dig out 4x4. That should last for the first nights. Then chop a tree and make a craftingtable.

After that craft:

wooden pickaxe

wooden sword

wooden showel

wooden hoe

torches

Ok this does not have all the craftings but the essentials. You will know them blind once you get better :)

I play on console because when I got the game I got it for the purpose of playing with my niece and she plays on Xbox 360/Xbox Live.  Finally this weekend we played together and had an awesome time.

when I read the title I thought you meant you were getting lost on the surface.  I was playing coop with a friend on a couple of PCs.... After building a "Cabin in the Woods" and investing alot of time on that area, we went exploring and got totally lost.  We didn't have a map or a previous spawn (bed) anywhere near our cabin.   We were wandering aimlessly for literally hours and hours.  We eventually got lucky and suddenly found our cabin again.

THats when I learned I need to make beds (to later spawn there).  I also build tall pillars into the sky occaisionally (with a torch on the side facing my home) so I can find my way back.  Also, I make maps as frequently as I can.

If I really get lost bad underground, I usually just begin digging my way up instead of trying to figure out the pathway through the tunnels to the surface.
