120hz/144hz monitors drops your performance?

comex

I wanted to buy a 120 or 144hz gaming monitor for around $200 but I heard somewhere you lose performance (fps drops) when you use these types of monitor vs 60hz ones

is this true?

You absolutely do NOT lose performance. It's just that the only benefit of a 120Hz monitor is if you can actually reach 120 FPS. Or anything higher than 60. Then you'll be able to see the difference. But if you're only able to drive it at 60, 40 or something then there is no use.

I am going for the same monitor spec you are referring too.higher hz 120 or 140 and around 200$.I asked and still checking some threads and people here too and as soon as I get something to go for I will let you know too.Hope you will tell if you got something which fulfills our choice.
