Who has the most underkill setups for intended use

Sorry for stealing the thunder of the other thread but i thought heck why not.

 

i'll start off here.

 

 

TF2/Gmod/Other games + Video sharing, Photoshop,SAI, Playing minecraft while running a minecraft server, Windows 7. Athlon 3800+ 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon 200Xpress graphics.

 

Constantly at 100% CPU usage but never bogged down or complained Until it took its toll in the end, it did it LIKE A BOSS. where as the C2D E7300 i got after the athlon PC and even my previous 3770K rig i got after the c2d could claim it bossed its way through a complete thrashing like the old Athlon rig did, i remember you well ol Athlon rig <3.

 

Anyhow as the topic goes, Underkill setups :D go ahead.

I do allot of cad work on my pc, it is nowhere near optimized for that hah. My gpu and 8gb of ram cant keep up lol.

Edit also my girlfriend has a gtx 770 and a 4670k but no power supply motherboard or hard drive for gaming (because i havent finished building it)

Ah, those Athlons...

You know, I really just want to go back and build an Athlon machine at some point. those things were tanks. absolutely awesome CPUs for the price (unlike the Pentium 4... )

My 2400+ machine is still going strong, as far as I know. Did everything I asked it to and more without even missing a step. That is until my dad put Windows 7 Ultimate onto it. Only afterwards did he realize that adding a 5450 would make it NOT die. the 5450 is a piece of shit, but all my brother wanted to do was play Portal, so you know... Fair enough.

If I had some athlon X2 machines I would just shove Linux on them and have them do things. excellent stuff.

During the Scrypt Coin Craze of Q1, I tried my hand at mining. At the time I didn't have my trusty 7870, so I used my APU... it was okay but it hurt afterwards.

i have a 5760X1080 monitor setup,and only gtx 660 sli to run them...

(and bf4 is my main game)

My younger brother used to use some toshiba laptop with a pentium to play TF2. This thing is constantly hot and the graphics look awful, but he can get 30 fps out of it. I sit and laugh at him with my 760 and 4670k.

Up until last year I gamed on a:

Intel Pentium D @3.0Ghz

4GB DDR2 RAM @667Mhz

74.5GB 5400Rpm HDD

Zotac GT 220 1GB DDR2 Synergy Edition

375W PSU

 

Then Last year I got a new laptop:

Intel Core i7 740QM

4GB DDR3 RAM @1333Mhz (Low Power)

Nvidia GT 330M 1GB

500GB HDD

 

And I now have a decent pc:

AMD A8 7600 @3.8Ghz

8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM@1866Mhz

1TB WD Blue 7200Rpm

MSI A78M-E45 Motherboard

Corsair CX500

MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr 2GB

Cooler Master CN-251  Case

Up until recently I used a 3 year old MacBook Air with an i5-2557M and 4GB RAM and HD3000 graphics for TF2, Kerbal Space Program and bootcamping into a 64-bit version of W7 for things like the Source Filmmaker and the Hammer world editor for the Source engine. It was a nightmare since I bought the machine in 2011 with no intention to do all of that.

 

I've got something more suitable now.

 

Also, the iMacs at school run of an ancient Core2 Duo and then they expect us to run Cinema 4D smoothly while calculating global illumination for a render.

My Dell. I make it do stuff most Pentium 4's have never thought of (like folding all week, actually playing some games, etc). Even with as much bullshit as I make this poor thing take, it still does it like a boss. It's even okay with most 480p YouTube videos.
