Apple announced their line up of 2014 best app of the year...The top free iOS app this year was Facebook Messenger, which Facebook practically forced its users to download after it broke it out of its main app. :P

Apple’s iPad app of the year is Pixelmator.The iPad game of the year is the Monument Valley.

I would also add Spyglass to the list of best apps – it’s a great navigational toolkit for different purposes. It’s top-notch for off-road and on-road navigation, hiking and traveling. It’s crammed with all that necessary data like gps coordinates, current azimuth, altitude, speed, potential arrival time to your target and much more.
