Tablet for Mom (netflix user)

timemachine

As the title states, mom needs a new tablet. She doesn't do anything except watch netflix on my fathers labtop. Since it would be stupid to buy a comp for her the next best thing would be a Tablet.

My budget is around 200 dollars!

thanks!

for netflix I would get something bigger, but all the 10 inchers are waaaay out of budget.

Why not get like HP Stream 13? It's big, it's full windows, it will handle netflix. It also has a stand built in  B)

Stream 13 sounds like a good idea.  iPad is far away from your budget, and even Android tablets as well.

I took her ipad haha.. So I need to give her something back for trade.

Why not just grab a refurb surface rt? it's 16:9 which is great for most videos. It's even on sale currently for about $150.

Only if it is the second RT, first was meh at best.

Thought it was 16:10?

For just netflix, performance isn't really an issue, although better battery life, a better display and more kickstand options are definitely a plus.

Nope, it's a 1366x768 display which is 16:9.

Surface features a 10.6 inch, 1366 x 768 16:9 display. The physical size is a bit unusual, although the display resolution is something we’ve seen used in affordable notebooks for years now. We already know why Microsoft picked the display size (to enable better multitasking and make for a good keyboard size), but is there room for a flagship tablet with only a 1366 x 768 display resolution?

Samsung tablets are nice with dem AMOLED displays... but IDK if any of them would fit under your budget :/

That's because whenever I hear Surface I forget RT exists. :P Even if what's said is Surface RT. :P

Maybe the HP stream 7 or 8

I ended up with the Stream 8. Got it for 172 out the door. Originally 179 + Tax.
