I sold em to buy a pair of hd800's, the LCD-2 were becoming a bit to heavy and bugging my neck. (They weigh 21 ounces)

You sold them ??oh noes and how do the hd800s stand against the LCD-2?Oh and DERAILED :)

They're more "3D" sounding and the soundstage is much more outside your head than the LCD-2's, and it's not even a contest in terms of comfort.  Hd800 are on a wholeeeeeeee nother level of the LCD-2.

 

They don't sound miles better than the LCD-2, mostly just different and more neutral.

 

Surprisingly the bass is about the same volume, but the hd800 has faster "decay" of the bass, if the song wants bass there, and it's only just "bump bump bump" the HD800 will reproduce that perfectly, but the LCD-2 was like "buuumpp buuump buuump" because the bass notes tend to "stick around" after the note is finished.
