Are You Satisfied With Your Current PC Build? *open poll*

Nope. Despite my system being good enough it is just that, it is mediocre. I can't wait to finally have the cash to buy a Micro-ATX X99 board and a bit of RAM and power up my 5960X for the first time. :P

Yes; I mean, I could throw more money at the system, but I don't know how much it would actually affect gameplay. A GSync monitor or a second card for SLI might be nice, but for the games I typically play at the resolution I have? I don't see it making that big of a difference.

With my HD7850 I'm not able to pull out 1080p everywhere in 40-60fps, but still gaming in 720p on 60-120fps makes me happy. I'm not the quality guy, when it comes to it ^ ^

My PC is great, it performs easily as well as I need it to, but I am never satisfied. I fee there are things I could have done better, different components I might have purchased which might have been more optimal. A blower style cooler on the video card would have been better in the small case for removing hot air. I might have also gone with a different case, for $100 the TJ08 is definitely a good buy, but it's a bit fussy and there are some things about it that I do not like. I would say it isn't up to Silverstone's usual standard.

- Silverstone TJ08B-E - Gigabyte Z87M-D3H - i7 4770k @ 4.0GHZ 1.2v - 16gb Kingston HyperX Black 1600 - Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 4GB -

- Silverstone Fortress FT02 - MSI Z77 Mpower - i5 3570k @ 4.0GHZ 1.09v - 8gb Mushkin Blackline 1600 - MSI GTX 670 PE -

- Lenovo T430 (1600x900) - i5 3210m - 8GB DDR3 1333 - nVidia NVS5400M - 256GB mSATA OS - 320GB HDD-

I think my PC has 5-6 years old, I'm sitting on an x58 mobo, a i7 920, and a gtx 660. I'm definetly not satisfied with this.

I'm about the same. Mine is less old and I'm on a i7 980 with x58 mobo, I recently upgraded to a gtx 970 but I need to update my system. Mobo and CPU maybe soon but def the HDD is super slow and old, and I currently have no SSD :(

Current PC build: [CPU: Intel i7 8700k] [GPU: GTX 1070 Asus ROG Strix] [Ram: Corsair LPX 32GB 3000MHz] [Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A] [SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB primary + Samsung 860 Evo 1TB secondary] [PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750w 80plus] [Monitors: Dual Dell Ultrasharp U2718Qs, 4k IPS] [Case: Fractal Design R5]

No, I am not happy with my desktop build, or my laptop for that matter.

Laptop reasons are actually quite easy to fix. It may seem retarded, but it irks me when I open task manager to see xxGB used of 12, I would like 16 or 32 GB to look right. Shallow I know.  Also have broke the tabs on the battery when it got dropped last time, so now when I set it down with the battery (rear of teh laptop) of the table or desk, the battery falls out. :(

Desktop:

-Ram is fine in performance and size. I would like to have more, but I have never seen more than 90% useage without VMs running, so I just can not justify the cost of more right now.

-CPU is a joke for my workload sometimes. I would like to go to a 8+ core i7 or Xeon, but again, can not justify the cost at the moment.

-Motherboard is Great. I would not change a thing about it for the current build, other than maybe an internal wireless card (currently on USB). If I were to change it, I would go to the X99-e WS or Z10PE-D8 WS if the money there and the investment would net a return other than faster render times (I am using Sony Vegas on a output that does not support OpenCL/Cuda, and AAC with Cuda, but my projects do not net income, so the wait is not costing anything but time).

-SSDs are okay. I am running my SP600s in RAID 0 Purely for Space (tossed the 830 in my laptop), and they preform fine. I would like to have a couple of 1TB ones not in RAID, but the price is not worth the very little performance increase from a HDD in my use case scenarios (aside from game loading times).

-HDD is fine, but SMALL. I would love to have 6 of the 8TB Hatachi He6 drives, but $6000 is not worth it now. Would probably drop to 6 6TB Hatachi drives if I had my rathers.

-PSU(s) They are fine for my current setup (ZT750 with a Modstream 600) is fine, but I would probably go with a couple of 1300 watt Antec HCP units (Redundancy, not for the extra watts) if I upgraded to the level I would like to have.

-Case: Is a joke. I would not ever purchase another Corsair case for more reasons than one. Maybe Lian-Li, Silverstone, or if lower end, a Blackhawk Ultra.

-GPUs: I love my GTX480, it is a great card, not too loud or hot considering it is being a Tesla more or less (Just a compute accellerator). I would like to replace it, but iirc a Titan Black is not too far ahead in compute workloads, but a Titan would be nice as an accellerator card.   I am indifferent to disappointed in my HD7950s. They perform fine when the drivers are set properly, and have a decent profile. In the upgrade rhelm, I would go for a 295x2 or the like, specifically for the fact it can be made single slot with minimum mods assuming a proper loop, leaving 5 other cards that could be installed in a X99-e or Z10 board, which would be useful to me. Ideally, the Titan could be swapped for a Quadro K4100, but the jury is still out on DP performance there vs GK110 vs GF100.

Otherwise, I would LOVE a RAID card, something like a LSI 9280-8i or a 9280-24i4e would be nice, but the $$$$ is too high, but there is a nice LIan-Li case iirc with 20 3.5" bays internal and dual PSU bays with several 5.25" bays. Would pair nicely, with the right drives.      A Wireless AC adapter and a 10Gb adapter would be nice, but the wired could be done without.

nope, don't get me wrong, i love my computer and its great for what i do. i just wish i had made different choices when i made it. and now that new hardware is out, i want to upgrade like always LoL.

-i'll never do dual graphics cards again. its just not worth it. also i'll probably never do AMD graphics card again. i'd like to have a 980ti (wishful thinking that it nvidia will come out with a ti model soon) or a 980

-i'll never buy AMD CPU again. they're just so far behind now. i want an i5 4690k

-i recently build a computer for a friend with windows 8.1. i'm still on 7 and man 8.1 feels better than 7....its snappier and quicker feeling.

-i would put more money into a better MOBO, my motherboard socket temp is pretty much my limiting factor right now on my OC. i'd like to do a custom loop with the i5 4690k, a single 980, and the mobo vrm modules

however, i do like my computer. its great for gaming and its come a long way from V1 to V4 now LoL.

I'm not upset with it, but it's still too loud at idle even wit water cooling. My next build will be on air so it can have every fan stop spinning when I'm not gaming. That stupid pump just isn't quiet enough.
