Bluetooth causing BSoD

ewa341

I have been using Bluetooth to transfer music from my computer to my phone. It works, however, sometimes it causes my computer to crash with BSoD. It only blue screens while using the Bluetooth. I downloaded the latest drivers from Asus, and Microsoft, but in the device manager it still says that there is three missing Bluetooth device peripherals. I have tried just installing them as a COM port but that also doesn't help anything. I have checked all other drivers for my computer and their all up-to-date. So my question is, why is my computer still crash with a BSoD?

My rig is as follows:

Intel core i5-3570k OC to 4.3 GHz

Asus P8Z68-V/Gen3 mobo

Intel patriot signature RAM 8 GB

Asus Strix GTX 980

Corsair CX600 PSU

3TB Seagate HDD (primary)

256 GB Samsung HDD (secondary)

and my phone is an HTC One (M8) and I also have HTC sync manager installed but it doesn't recognize my phone over Bluetooth. I have a custom built desk so I can't plug in any USB cables or I would to transfer music.

Its not the CPU that makes it blue screen. Iv'e got it stable at 4.3 GHz and handles well under a full load for 24 hours without a blue screen.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Quick forum advice here - if you click that "quote" button on the bottom right of this comment, you can help me help you quite a bit as I get a notification when you respond.

Also, if you could follow your own forum, that would be superb too.

And, sorry if I missed it, but are you on Windows 8? 7? Etc.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Where would the error code be? During the BSoD or the solution thing once the computer restarts?

During the blue screen. If you have enough camera power, whether in your phone or decent camera, maybe try taking a video and/or rapid fire shots of the BSOD to see the error code.

Okay. Ill invoke it, but it may take some time for it to actually crash.

I got it to blue screen, and I was able to read something at the top that said drive_power_state_failure, or something along those lines. Here is the problems details from it after it booted back up:

It looks like your PC wants to shut down *because* of this bluetooth device - as if the bluetooth device is a TV remote kind of turn off.

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers then letting the PC figure it's stuff out manually?

I'm sorry, I'm very tired and should be sleeping. I'll try to get back to you tomorrow.

I tried, but it didn't want to uninstall them all the way. Such as, the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator would not uninstall. I restarted after uninstalling them and it was still there so. There was also a list of uninstalled Bluetooth Peripheral Devices so I fixed most of that by re-installing the Asus Bluetooth drivers. I could try again and see if that helps anything, with out installing the Asus drivers, then Ill update if it does blue screen or not.

Well it was working just fine. Now all of a sudden, my computer disconnected from the phone. So I removed my phone from my computer and same with my phone, and repaired them. Now It's not installing the FTP driver so it's not transferring music to my phone.
