How long should Windows take to install?

After getting the selection screen for your language, it now has a purple screen with "setup is starting" and a circling cursor.

It's been more than 10 minutes.

Not sure if this is normal, but it sure doesn't seem right.

Specs are Pentium G3220, r9-270,MSI mATX board (the 30 dollar one), WD 1TB HDD, corsair CX750m,and a decent flash drive with a Windows iso installed.

What should I do?

I believe it took a while ( Like.. 30-60 minutes or something..) to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on my dad's SSD.

Its not installing, its just "starting". Usually this takes less than a minute.

well if you wait for half an hour just turn off your pc and do another install  :lol:

I have had times where I had to format the USB drive again then make a installation usb again.

for my installing from a USB3 stick onto a SSD takes about 10 minutes for the whole install process.

I might try that.

Try creating the drive again from an ISO image, using Rufus.

Had a problem when my desktop got stuck there for 2 hours. Laptop had the same issue once before. Out of all my installations that is the only time it has happened. Not sure why it happened either.

Still going on, could it be the hard drive? Or bad ram settings? I don't want to end it, but I need this installed today...

Left it running overnight, now this page is frozen. Why does the hard drive have so many portions if it's brand new? It really should not be doing this ;/

Also, would it be possible to use my regular computer to install Windows, than just swap the hard drive?
