Trouble with Nvidia Shadowplay, Gigabyte GTX 970, and Optical Audio

Hello,

 

So I'm having trouble with Optical Audio on my pc. My drivers are up-to-date but optical out seems to cut out randomly sometimes. If you could help with that, I'd appreciate it. But most importantly I'm having trouble with Shadowplay when recording. My game freezes randomly whenever I'm recording with shadowplay or even have shadowplay turned on, but not recording. That's one issue. Next, I use optical audio for all things so on the shadowplay recording the sound cuts off, but I can still hear it while I have been playing and recording. If i'm not recording, however, and just playing without shadowplay turned on I can use optical audio and my game will not freeze. I don't know if this is a shadowplay issue, graphics card issue, or optical audio, or all of the above. I have tried emailing Nvidia, but have gotten absolutely nothing back...

Do you have the latest drivers installed?

Are all your windows updates installed?

Yes just had windows updates the other night. And Latest Realtek HD Audio Drivers are installed. 64bit Windows 8.1 version 6.0.1.7246, DirectX 11
