I really do not understand why my system has memory problems. Can someone help?

skrufskript

Hi.

As you can see from the screenshot, my system gets a memory overload just running everyday applications. 98% of my 8GB RAM is allegedly used, although no heavy programs are running. This happens every so often, and is fixed by restarting the PC. Anybody know how I can fix this? Right now, freshly after restart, I am using 27% of the RAM running the same applications.

Thanks!

How many tabs are open on Firefox? If you have a lot open and they use a bunch of data (like YT vids, Facebook, Tumblr, etc..) then it'll do that. Try closing Firefox and having less tabs open for a little bit if you can.

Firefox actually didn't matter, I just had it open to google the best way to screenshot. With Firefox closed, I had the exact same problems :/

Try re-seating your sticks of ram. Pop them out and swap the sticks around in the motherboard.

If that doesn't work then you've probably been hit with a FUD piece of malware. Re-installing your operating system will fix the problem if you want to resort to going through that.

Try running a scan with Malwarebytes and see if it picks up anything. Also run a scan with HiJackThis and post your log

I can take a screenshot of the performance tab when the problem resurfaces. I also have some issues with the top left of my monitor flickering from time to time. Might that be related? Will also do a malware scan.

Drivers are up to date. Finished the malwarescan now, didn't find any threats. Here's a video of the flickering (sorry for potato quality, shot on an iphone 5): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wqc8ep2chopjfnu/AAAKtIacFy0o8wBhSqLaFYjKa?dl=0

Will re-check the drivers. Also, I couldn't access any web pages while malwarebytes was running, for some reason. Did you want the log from hijackthis?

EDIT: The flickering doesn't occur if I keep my cursor on that part of the screen.

However, this is while the system is running fine, so maybe it would be better to run hijackthis while my system is overloading. Also, it got denied access to the hosts file.

Okey, I will check the AMD-forums then, maybe the new drivers are bugged. Thank you :) I don't know, I didn't realize. McAffee always seems to find its way into my computer even though I really don't want it. Thanks for pointing that out :) I will post a new log when the problem resurfaces.

You're running Malwarebytes Pro and McAfee at the same time? Try shutting down McAfee and see if that changes anything. I would also suggest turning off Windows Defender as well permanently as you're running alternative protection all it's going to slow down your machine with no added benefit. Navigate and uncheck the option below.

Windows Defender -> Settings -> Administrator -> Turn on Windows Defender
