PC Stutter

Go to solution Solved by TheGamingLawNL,

Okay seems like it was very easy to fix and it's fixed now.

As I noted the GPU clocks were dropping right after these stutters, well there was a connection with this. I always have iGPU on, but there was a small mistake I completely forgot about. The primary source for video was on auto instead of dedicating it to the PCI lanes. Result was that iGPU and Dedicated GPU's started to collide. I found this out as I got the same issue on running base clock of the CPU. Ran fine till I turned iGPU once again on. Did some search work in the BIOS, went 100% derpmode and found the issue.

I feel stupid :D

Edit: I use integrated graphics for streaming, could this be the cause? I mean ded graphics and integrated graphics running at the same time? Should be fine but it got me wondering. I use it for Intel Quick Sync. Quite the must for me :)

I7 4770k @4.4Ghz

Asus Maximus VI Hero

16Gb RAM 1600Mhz

GTX 780 SC ACX in SLI (6GB)

Some HDDs and SSDs

Okay so, I did figure out one thing already. It's the OC. I tried to ask for help 2 times before but nothing worked out. Kinda repost this.

One dude said it was Thermal Throttling as my CPU was overheating in his eyes. This was with the temps I am reaching not the case. In games where I experience this stutter I had a max temp of 73C. Checked this with HW Monitor.

Other time I thought it was SLI as this 'desynced;  around these stutters. Ran them seperatly and tested the cards in any way, no results/issues found.

I did a memtest, also flawless and no issues. (memtest86 that is)

When does this happen?

Random, but mostly during games. So, system under load you could say. Now this happens in games like BF4, but also Company  of Heroes 2, Counter Strik GO, CoD (all versions), WoW and IL2 Sturmovik. Meaning pretty much any game.

Some games run on an SSD, others on HDDs

Other weird note is, that one I re-did the BIOS with the latest version it stopped for a while, but did come back.

I ran completely out of ideas.

Set text colour to Automatic. Can't read anything without highlighting it. Try installing older nvidia drivers. Last ones were really fucking shit.

Go into the BIOS and check everything is on that you could possibly need. Refer to Google if you find something that's questionable.

To all, I didn't do anything to the text. It is on Auto. It's normal black for me here.

No. It should be on Auto to work.

Ye I know, it's on Auto. But that caused it apparently. Maybe this thread is bugged?

Those bugs happen when you paste stuff from somewhere :/

I don't support peple who complain about stuff like things not working in the night theme, if it's not working, don't use it

To see our suffering, however, go to the bottom left and click "Change Theme" and then "Night Theme"

Will try for older drivers, I run latest as usual. I agree these are doing bad lately.

Have you checked for malware? There really doesn't seem to be any other possible cause.

Multiple times, I scan on a weekly base with AVG Internet Security. (had others too but didn't like em)

Yes I do, EPU is disabled though. As I find this crap.

Bios is done with the help of an Asus guide, should all check out. Left voltage on Auto as that is easier. As something I should have mentioned. I ran this OC setting for over a year by now. This issue started a while ago.

Try turning on EPU and set it to auto then turn off the vcore downgrade see if that helps
