Google Chrome is broken AGAIN for the THIRD TIME...

The DongFather

It's done it again. It won't launch from the taskbar and it won't open links from Skype. I have tried every possible fix I could find and they just will not work. The links to my previous 2 topics are here and here so you can see what people have suggested already and what fixed it the other times but won't work now. Please one of you say you can help me because I'm about to have a breakdown. This is the single most infuriating thing that has happened to me in my life.

I would but I've already done it 3 or 4 times in the past and having to reinstall 750GB worth of programs and games is tedious.

lordy! may i suggest you get a data drive to store all that? Makes like so much easier when reinstalling

What version of chrome are you using? Try the Dev version

I never have any issues.

I probably should but I don't have the money atm. My computer seriously needs upgrading so I'm saving for that.

I had the same problem, but I can't remember correctly what I did to fix it. I'll try my best;

  • Uninstall iTunes (I think this was a contributing factor to the problem)
  • Fresh install of windows
  • Remove Java
  • Full virus scan and remove anything found
  • Remove any adware, see this link (delta search example); http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-delta-search.html
  • Turn antivirus software and firewall off temporarily to allow chrome to open.
  • Check blocked applications in antivirus etc.
  • Re-create the shortcut

Really sorry if they don't work! I wish I could remember :( It was a while ago on my old and slow laptop.

Might I suggest switching to Chromium? It's the open-source version of chrome available on cross-platforms.

If that doesn't work, you should consider uninstalling it with Revo uninstaller to ensure every trace of Chrome has been erased. then reinstall.

Just put all your games and programs on a different partition from the OS.

Zonus, looks like he already tried a bunch of chromium based browsers and none of them worked =/

Yeah, I noticed that just now. xD

However, I think my Revo uninstaller idea is worth a shot?

These last 3 months i had alot of issues with Chrome also like pages not loading in the browser and some things not loading correctly at all.

I eneded up using firefox and everything worked fine and i use there new sync which is also good. The only thing i could say is not as good as chrome is it lacks 60fps playback on youtube at moment but that is being added soon in upcoming verisons.
