I have had two other builds, one with the AMD 1090T when it launched and after that one based around the i7 980X, which was on the 1366 platform. My current PC used to have an i7 3930K which died and had to be replaced, and  I also own a small LAN rig. In addition to that I am starting a new build around the i7 5960X to replace my primary computer. Counting everything I have spent probably well above 12,000+ USD till now. When I think about how much money have spent on PC hardware over the years, I want to kill myslef, it's insane!

to keep mine as short:

storage: 350

displays: 550

GPU's: 725

CPU: 250

GPU/CPU Cooling: 250

Fans: 120

Case: 90

Windows 7: 120

Mouse: 75

Keyboard: 25

Mic: 45

Ram: 90

Sound Card: 35

DVD Drive: 20

motherboard 120

$2865 + 13% sales tax = $3237  :o damn that adds up

*edit* I should add that my PC has cost this much - not because I need the bells and whistles - but because I love upgrading one of my components at least a couple times a year or more. this thread doesn't help the myth that PC gaming

is expensive

R9 3900XT | Tomahawk B550 | Ventus OC RTX 3090 | Photon 1050W | 32GB DDR4 | TUF GT501 Case | Vizio 4K 50'' HDR

Counting display I have about $5,000 USD in mine. The main expense is storage since I use all SSDs.
