*Emergency* I encrypted my phone...

so i encrypted my phone because "herp derp" i is curious... now i cant decrypt it. im running cyanogenmod 10. whatever snapshot on an htc one m7 with TWRP recovery. the only way i know to decrypt it is by factory reset but i really dont want to do that. samsung phones can be decrypted as i watched a couple videos on them. i need to know how i can decrypt this phone as it has become very slow now and has also lost alot of features that i liked. like pattern unlock.  so please help me out.

Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

I never encrypted my phone. But I guess you use the key/password you used when encrypting it to turn off encryption. If you forgot that key, then.............

I never encrypted my phone. But I guess you use the key/password you used when encrypting it to turn off encryption. If you forgot that key, then.............

no i know the key. but that encrypt button did not become a"decrypt button".

I'm afraid you're going to have to factory reset it. I wanted to do the same on my M8 (stock ROM), and it just isn't giving such an option.

I think i now know the more convenient way to remove the encryption from your android phone...

 

First go to Settings-->Security-->

 

Then under "Credential Storages" click on "Clear all credentials".

Then factory reset it. I couldn't find any other solution.
