Having Network issues... going to get a new router. which one?

XYrZbest

I have the router comcast gives me which is very under powered, they even told me it would not be a good idea to port forward or use static ips because people have issues doing so, I have it connected to an airport extreme for wifi and the whole setup just got messed up last night. I'm going to get a new router/wireless access point and use the comcast just as a modem. I was deciding between WRT1900AC, Net Gear Night Hawk R9000, or the asus rt-ac87u or maybe the EA9200. Should I get tri band. I have many devices maybe 10-15 at a time, but try to use Ethernet as much as possible (I have a 24 port gigabit switch with at least one Ethernet connection to each room) Should I use DD-WRT or OpenWRT. I just have a view ports forwarded and a couple static ips. I have all my networking down in my basement and would like to keep the new router down there, can i still get a good enough connection with AC and/or tri-band. I know it wouldn't work when i used to use g/b ... The comcast router's hardware was so under powered that it would lock up so often I couldn't access the settings page, wouldn't forward ports (a must for my security system), and would arbitrarily wipe the static ip list

if you want to spend the extra money get the R8000 netgear, however the triband wont be of much benefit unless you have 10+ devices in use at the same time doing something, not just connected, so the r7000 is a great dualband router.
