New headphones!

BigChimp97

Ive recently been thinking about getting some new headphones to replace my Corsair 1400's for both gaming and also listening to music at college. Ive been looking at the Sennheisrr HD 558's and was just wondering if there are any headphones out there for a similar price that sound as good.

My music genres are - EDM, House and some pop. And i play BF4, CS:GO and more.

Any opinions would be helpful!!

Thanks guys

You can see a review here that includes the sound leakage test. The part with sound leakage starts at 5:13.

I agree here. The akg7xx's from massdrop are selling for $200, when they are nearly identical to the Sennheiser HD600, which is $400. I'd say buy these while you can, they're an amazing deal. For a mic, I'd say $10 zalman mic or, if you want something more premium, the modmic 4.0.

What? Nooooo.

This 7XX hype is getting out of hand.

Ive pretty much decided to get the AKG K550's instead, due to finding them reduced from £250 down to £99

I've got a pair of HD 555's and the HD 558 is barely any different.  Thinking of going 598 but not sure if it's worth it :P

Just do the foam mod, I'd done it with my HD555, making it sound even more like the HD595.......I think I can discern slightly better mids and highs, bass is about the same though. It works the same way with the HD558 (making it sound like a HD598), simple mod that is easy to do, and quite reversible as well.

Would recommend HD558 to people who's starting to get into a "real" headphone.

AKG sound signature isn't for everyone, you'll love it or you'll hate it
