AKG/Massdrop Collaboration K7XX

I'm going to buy the AKG K7XXs, anyone know what the cheapest amp/dac I could buy that would improve the sound quality a bit? I've heard from a review that they don't sound as good unless they have some amplification.

I don't have an amp or DAC currently, and was looking at the E17, would that be decent enough for these or should I get the E10k instead?

Also getting the E9k to pair with the E17 at a later time is a possibility, but right I'm interested in the E17 for it's portability (as an amp, I understand it can only be used as a DAC for desktop).
