MMX 300 headset replacement

SilverKnight

So, i love my MMX 300, but i am wondering what else can i get out there that is better?

The quality is great on it but i never use the mic and i would prefer something that has the same quality or better that weights less. Budget would be £210+ to £300 (The current retail price of the mmx 300)

In terms of a headset, the MMX 300 is top notch. If you want something better you would want to get headphones + a mic

I'll link you some options, if you'd like. What music do you listen to/what do you want in headphones?

Indeed it is. I already have a Blue Yeti sitting on the side, so there's really no need for a mic on a headset. I listen to a wide range of music, rock, pop, soundtracks, classical, the list goes on. I also use it for gaming and the MMX 300 does it all very well.

Sure, go ahead and link me up, i would appreciate any indicators as to the pros over the MMX 300 per link so i have a something to balance your opinon of them against the MMX 300.

Anything you get will have less bass, FYI.

An AKG K612 would be lighter, have a more neutral sound, and the open back will give you better soundstage whilst also being more comfortable.

If you really like your MMX 300 the DT 770 Premiums are basically those without a mic

The 80 or 250 Ohms version? They do seem very close with the DT 770 being able to operate at a higher frequency and ohms (Although i personally don't know if this difference really effects the quality)

I can't find the dt 770 premium anywhere, i guess they are no longer sold.

They'll sound roughly the same but the 250 ohm will need an amp.

The Pros are just slightly bassier Premiums. THe MMX 300 is 32 OHMs.
