Help with the MAXIMUS VII IMPACT

So I am working on a Mini ITX build and I am considering the Maximus VII Impact.  I also see that it has a optional M.2 socket and I have few questions about that.

From just Googleing it I found that you can install a SDD in a M.2 port in it but, are there any negatives to this, should i just get a normal SDD?

Also because it is connected through they same port as the wi-fi dose it lower the speed of the SSD and the wi-fi?

M.2 SSDs take up less space and will disable the use of your Sata-Express port, but if you have the port, especially for a small formfactor build go with an M.2 if its similar in price to a normal one, that way you have more free drive bays for airflow / HDDs.

Note: that when the M.2 slot is occupied, the PCIe slot will reduce to PCIe 3.0 x8

Make sure the M.2 storage it supports BOTH PCIE and SATA like the Samsung XP941 or your mobo won't recognize it.

I've been looking at this same setup. From what I've found, it can be a little difficult to get setup as a boot drive, but it has the potential to be much faster than a sata drive. Also the m.2 drives are usually a little more expensive than the equivalent sata ssd

Luckily the board does not even have a SATA-Express port...

This. But PCIe 3.0 8x is fast enough for any graphics card, so no reason to lose sleep over. :)
