FX-8320 safe voltage

I recently picked up an AMD FX-8320 for use in an older system. The system is currently running well, but I want to overclock it. The motherboard it is using has the 970 chipset. What is the maximum safe voltage for an 8320 when paired with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo?

Thanks for your help.

if it has an 8+2 vrm you can go to town, though for 24/7 1.45 should be plenty, but 1.5 is possible if you really wanna push it beyond 4.7ghz. (1.55ish is meant to be the max but i dont know anyone doing that other than massive overclocks)
4+1 i wouldnt go too high on the voltage because you'll just likely throttle the vrm's but see how high you can get on 1.35-1.4 without throttling.
6+1 (or 6+2) probably 1.4 or so is fine and will probably get you to 4.5ghz depending on chip.

just set a voltage, bump the multi and prime while watching core temp clock frequency, it might still dip due to no HPC mode, experiment.

How do I determine what the vrm is? The motherboard is the MSI 970A-G46. I've looked through the specs on multiple sites, but I can't find anything.

http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database (google "amd vrm")

its a 4+1 with a heatsink, you can run an fx8 in most 4+1 boards but overclocking is limited, you can keep bumping the multi untill it starts throttling, if it does it no matterthe speed reduce voltage, if it still does it its probably a problem with the board not having HPC mode (it'll declock just to reduce power regardless) look for hpc mode in bios

you can get the msi 970 gaming or gigabyte ud3p boards for about £65 gbp ($90 newegg) which have 8+2 vrms and the skys the limit, ive done cinebench r15 at 4.95ghz (unstable) and got a 790 score.

this is one of the worst AM3+ 970 chipset motherboards...i don't want to scare you but just quick google search on MSI 970A and VRM failure...i would not put an 8 core FX on this, and if i would HAVE to do it i would keep the clockspeed at stock and try to downvolt the chip as much as possible.
